Technology for the People

A few months ago we put together lolatext.com for our kids to text message each other in bulk. Seeing how useful this could be on a larger scale as a warning system, much thought was put into what lolatext.com could do for the community as well as the environment.

For the environment, we’ve created "Postings", which significantly cut down on the use of paper for schools and businesses.

For the community, lolatext.com can be used for many types of alerts such as tornado warnings, fire, flood etc., or just to inform people of school or business closings. Text messaging is more effective in an emergency because most people are carrying their cell phones when they are not near a computer or watching TV.

As a community member, please let college, high school, business administrators and government agencies such as fire and police departments know about lolatext.
